Sharon Karam spent her day at the Parkinson's Unity Walk on behalf of her mother. Sharon spoke about the challenges her mother faces and mentioned her mother doesn't get enough information about Parkinson's disease. Because of this, Sharon has taken an active roll in understanding Parkinson's disease.
"It has touched my mother's heart that her daughter has taken such an interest," Sharon said.
This appears to be common among family members of people living with Parkinson’s disease. Of the 8,500 people at the Unity Walk, many are living with Parkinson’s disease, but most, like Sharon, were there because of the love they have for a family member or friend.
