I encourage you to read the press release from the company that presented at the International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders. You will get a little different impression when you read it. Cogane does not appear to have started the clinical trial process.
One person with Parkinson's who has been advocating a cure, Tom Issacs, uses more precise language explaining that Cogane, "...offers a real prospect of a better treatment for Parkinson's disease."
As a matter of fact the press release never mentions a cure. However, this story comes from a presentation that occurred earlier this week at a large and reputable conference. I did not attend that presentation. If you attended please email me at mnilsen at MyParkinsonsInfo.com.
