The Muhammad Ali Parkinson's Research Center of Phoenix, Arizona is looking for patients' accounts of their lives. In an initiative called Don't Be Silent: Tell Us Your Story, researchers are hoping to compile information that could lead to an understanding of the disease, if not a cure. Would-be writers are encouraged to complete an hour-long, online survey through the Parkinson's Disease Registry administered by the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Researchers are hoping to enlist about 20,000 writers, and will make the findings available in condensed form to other PD researchers. All other information is kept confidential. Those who would like to participate but do not have access to online resources may contact the Parkinson's Disease Registry by calling 1-877-287-7122 to receive their printed survey complete with postage-paid return envelope.
