Research conducted at Duke University and reported on ABC News in Minneapolis/St. Paul, has shown promising results in improving movement in mice models of Parkinson’s disease. According to the researchers, mice that were completely frozen were able to move for some distance in a normal fashion when using Ecstasy.
According to the article:
The researchers say the amphetamine works best when combined with the Parkinson’s drug L-Dopa, which has long-term side effects like the loss of muscle control."You can use a much lower concentration of L-dopa. Then, that might do away with some of the side effects of the L-dopa treatment," says Marc Caron of Duke University.
