According to the article in Red Nova, BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics is working on promising research involving stem cell technology. Today they announced some additional successes in tests using rats with Parkinson's disease. Researchers transplanted cells into the rats resulting in improvements of Parkinson's symptoms.
The two BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics technologies that seem to hold promise are the use of glial cell line derived neurotropic factor (GDNF) expressing cells and dopamine producing neuron-like cells.
These therapies are in clinical trials in humans.
