Some people might even call some of Heydrick's choices radical. Most neurologists provide their patients with advice and treatment based on years of research and experience. However, Heydrick chooses to try some treatments that have not made it all the way through that testing process yet.
If you listen to Heydrick's Parkinson's Pyramid presentation you will hear him talk about science from the lab or from animal studies rather than information from human clinical trials. In a recent article he wrote for the newsletter Southwest Parkinson News, Heydrick explains his self-elected Parkinson's treatment regimen of nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, deep brain stimulation and medication.
